Aberdeen defender Scott McKenna has been appointed club ambassador for Trump International golf course in Aberdeenshire – and Dons fans were quick to let him know their feelings.
As well as the obvious divisions caused by President Trump’s involvement, the course itself is highly controversial in the area with a number of protests held over the years to block construction.

McKenna is a popular figure with fans – in no small part down to his performances – but this latest move may cause some friction with sections of the support.
The Dons ace tweeted to confirm news of his appointment but it was met with a very mixed reaction from fans of clubs across the country.

While it seems unlikely that McKenna wasn’t braced for the reaction to it, he is yet to tweet since.
Perhaps he’ll take a leaf from President Trump’s book and respond in a series of 3am tweets – and he won’t look out of place at Pittodrie in a red cap.
Aberdeen fans were split on it with some backing him for various reasons, while others felt it was a massive PR blunder on his part – with one asking the defender “how could you?”
