Attending football matches is becoming increasingly unaffordable for many fans in Scotland, especially during the festive period.

But this Christmas, Hibs and Kilmarnock fans are in luck thanks to the Easter Road club’s popular ‘Football For A Fiver’ initiative.

All match tickets for Hibs vs Kilmarnock on December 29 will be priced at just £5 as the club aim to attract as many fans to the Premiership clash as possible.

As mentioned, Killie fans can benefit from the initiative too and given how well they travel normally, the Ayrshire side could bring thousands of punters.

Hibs announce ‘Festive Football For A Fiver’ initiative

Announcing the initiative, Hibs stated: “Football For A Fiver is back at Easter Road!

“The popular initiative returns this Christmas – which will see all match tickets within the Stadium sold for just £5 for our William Hill Premiership fixture with Kilmarnock on Sunday 29 December; kick-off at 3pm at Easter Road.

“In what will be our final match of 2024, we are aiming for a capacity crowd inside Easter Road – with the discounted ticket campaign focussed on making football more affordable for supporters around Christmas.

“As part of the campaign, all travelling supporters will benefit too – with all Kilmarnock away tickets priced at £5.

“This will be the second time in recent years that we have offered tickets for just £5, the first of which was back in March 2022.

“Further initiatives have followed including ‘Friday Night Football for £10’ and discounted tickets on Halloween as we continue our effort to make football as affordable as possible for our supporters.”

Hibs vs St Johnstone in 2022 was a near sell-out

Hibs are aiming to sell Easter Road out on December 29 against Kilmarnock, just like they did the last time they put on their ‘Football For A Fiver’ initiative.

That was in March 2022 and while the fans were treated to a 0-0 thriller, the day was a huge success with the attendance set at 19,585.

Breaking the 20,000 barrier could be the target this time around for the Killie game as fans look forward to a festive treat.
