Inverness boss John Robertson is as yet unsure if Kai Kennedy will spend the rest of the season on loan at the Championship side.
The 18-year-old is on loan until January from Rangers. He is keen to see the deal extended until the end of the season. Robertson admits though that will depend on talks between the player and the Ibrox club.
Robertson has disclosed that Inverness have been in talks with Rangers. The Ibrox club would be keen to let the player stay in Inverness for the rest of the season. However, that will only happen if he signs a new deal with Rangers.

“We have spoken to Rangers, and they have given us the scenario they see going forward” he said.
“His future with them, first and foremost, is the key thing that has to be discussed between Rangers and the player. Until that is sorted we have to wait and see, as he is a Rangers player.
“They have told us if he signs a new deal they are quite happy for him to remain here this season. Until he does that, it is up for grabs” he explained.

Robertson went on to reveal that they will once again be in touch with Rangers soon to find out if any progress has been made in the situation. The Inverness manager will no doubt want the situation sorted soon. If Kennedy returns to Rangers he could bring in a player to replace him. Until then though, Robertson will have to wait and see.
“That hasn’t been done at the moment. So, we will just crack on for the next couple of games before contacting Rangers again to find out what the situation is” he concluded.
