The wait goes on to see where former Aberdeen loanee and Manchester United striker James Wilson will play his football next season.
The forward had a less than prolific year on loan at Pittodrie last term. Having now left United, Wilson is on the lookout for a new club.
He’s a target for Derek McInnes according to the Daily Record. They claim he’s even went as far as offering the striker a deal at Pittodrie.
For the time it’s taking though, Aberdeen should really move to other targets

A player has to be given time to weigh up his options, that’s natural. Aberdeen haven’t really got time to waste with their transfer targets though. The Dons are just over a week away from competitive football.
He had a decent run at United, but has never been able to fulfill the potential he showed in flashes at Old Trafford across any of his loan spells. It feels like the Dons are Wilson’s backup option though.
A report in the Chronicle claims Sunderland are after him. The Record have also claimed Championship side Preston want him. If there is English interest in him, Wilson will likely want to hear what they have to say first before contemplating Aberdeen’s offer.
If he really wanted to be a Don he’d have signed by now. The fact is that he hasn’t, which seems to indicate he’s holding out for an arguably bigger move than Aberdeen.
McInnes should move onto other striker targets. For someone who only scored four goals in 24 Premiership appearances last term, the Red Army sure are committing a lot of energy and time into this deal.
He has potential and one day Wilson could come good. He’s taking an age to decide on his future though in a time where Aberdeen need bodies in now. McInnes should start to contemplate other striker options.
