When Hibernian take on Motherwell later today it will mark the start of a very busy December period of the Easter Road.
In total, Jack Ross’ team will play seven games in the month, which includes both the Betfred Cup and the Scottish Premiership fixtures.
Taken stock of season so far
Ahead of the busy run, Ross has taken stock of Hibernian’s season so far, giving a two-word verdict on the progress made – ‘pretty good’.

“We’ve not been perfect, but we’ve had a pretty good season to date” Ross said.
“We’ve not lost many matches, we’ve progressed to the quarter-final of the league cup, by winning every game in the group stage and the knockout round, we’ve put ourselves in a really competitive position in the league. I think we feel in a good place going into the schedule.”
Trying to organise friendlies
Ross then identified the problems that could occur during the busy schedule ahead. That is, injuries and suspensions. That is one of the reasons why Ross has been trying to organise friendlies. A few days ago a Hibernian side drew 4-4 with a Rangers team in one such game.

“It’s just making sure we’ve got everybody available and ready to go. That’s why we’ve been playing and trying to organise a couple of reserve games recently. We know over that month of December we’re going to have to need players.
“We’ve got a couple that are close to suspension, we’re going to have to use our squad throughout that month, we’re going to pick up injuries along the way as well. Certainly through the month of December we’ve got a busy schedule.”
