James McPake says there has to be a sense of ‘perspective’ after one of his Dundee players tested positive for Covid-19.
The Dee face Alloa Athletic on Friday night but have been hit with virus issues prior to the game.

A Dundee player has picked up Covid-19 and will miss the match away to the Wasps. McPake’s men head into the match off the back of a 1-1 draw with Raith Rovers last weekend.
Commenting on the virus predicament ahead of Friday night’s encounter, McPake says there has to be a bit of reality that this is ‘someone’s health’ which has been affected.
“It is a personal thing now, you forget football when it becomes someone’s health,” said McPake. “We put football to one side and the health of that player and his family is more important than anything.

“That’s what we have said from the start at this football club. We are trying to minimise the chance as much as we can. You can’t guarantee that and we’ve just found that out. It’s our first positive case.
“We pass our best wishes onto the player and his family. We hope they recover quickly and he gets back to training when he is healthy enough to do that, but in terms of football, it’s someone’s health so there has to be perspective there.
“The demand is to win every game at this football club and we know that.

“Alloa are a good team so we need to be right and ready to go down there and put on a performance and bring the three points back up the road.”
