Jamie Ness has left Dundee after the former Rangers and Plymouth midfielder’s contract was terminated by mutual consent.
Ness started his career at Rangers, considered a bright young prospect at Ibrox. He made 18 appearances as Rangers tried to scale the SPFL food chain following their demotion to League Two in 2012.
Following his Ibrox exit, Ness would go on to have spells with Stoke City, Leyton Orient, Crewe Alexandra, Scunthorpe United and most prominently Plymouth Argyle, where he made the most appearances of his career at one club.
Ness made a return to Scotland for the first time since his Rangers spell in the summer of 2019 after his Plymouth spell came to an end. A mix of different injury troubles though have limited him to 13 Dens appearances.
He now moves on from James McPake’s side after a mutual agreement to end his stay in Tayside after just over a year.
Dundee return to competitive action on Tuesday night when they face Forfar Athletic in the League Cup group stages.
