Jim Goodwin has once again stated that Lewis Morgan is a player he’d really like to bring to St Mirren.
The former Buddies man has barely featured for Celtic this term after featuring six times in Champions League qualifying. Goodwin recently stated he wants to give him some respite from the Celtic cold by bringing him back to Paisley (STV).
Now prior to the Buddies’ 2-1 defeat to Hibs, Goodwin has reaffirmed his interest in the winger.
“I would love to have Lewis Morgan back, but we have no indication from Celtic that he’s available,” Goodwin told BBC Sportsound.
“If he did become available, we would be in a long line of clubs in Scotland and England who would like to have him on loan.”
Goodwin could be doing with an attacker like Morgan
During his first spell in Paisley, Morgan netted 29 times and notched 23 assists in 118 games. It’s the one time in his career where he’s had a consistent run of end product.
Goodwin needs someone with that right now. So far this term, St Mirren have scored ten Premiership goals, the worst offensive record of any top tier side.
Morgan isn’t featuring for Celtic so it would make sense for both parties if a deal could be worked hear. St Mirren need a regular source of end product, Morgan needs games to revitalise his career.
One thing is for certain though and that’s Goodwin would want nothing more but the former Buddie in January.
