- EXCLUSIVE from Graeme Bailey
Jimmy Thelin may have suffered a bump in the road at the weekend, but that doesn’t take away from the good work he has started at Aberdeen.
The Dons are now out of the Premier Sports Cup after their 6-0 semi-final shellacking from Celtic at Hampden.
But they remain level on points with their national stadium conquerors and very much in the mix for a top two finish after beating Rangers last midweek.
They will need to ensure they remain focused and keep their league form going with Dundee up next at Pittodrie on Saturday.

Thelin Aberdeen release clause revealed
Starting a season unbeaten is always going to make people take notice, but doing it for 15 games in all competitions is quite incredible.
When it is a Scottish team outside of the Old Firm and two of those games were against the Glasgow sides, it adds to the achievement.
Thelin already has an impressive back catalogue after his stint at Elfsborg in which he nearly led them to an unlikely title win back in his homeland of Sweden.
So it would be no surprise if teams were keeping tabs.
Indeed, the Sun reported last month that Premier League outfit Wolves were taking a look.
Wanderers are thought to be considering a change as they sit bottom of the table under Gary O’Neil. Results haven’t exactly picked up since the report and they are yet to win a league game this campaign.
Now, Not the Old Firm can reveal that Wolves or any other interested club would have to pay £2million to take Thelin away from Pittodrie.
We understand that is the release clause that was inserted into his contract when he signed on at Aberdeen from Elfsborg in the summer.
Aberdeen’s biggest challenge
Pundit Michael Stewart reckons Aberdeen’s biggest challenge this season is now abundantly clear after their thumping at the hands of Celtic.
He feels that was a sign that the Dons simply cannot compete with the champions and that they should be focusing on finishing ahead of Rangers in second.
Stewart would back them to do so but insists that is what their focus should be on.
