Scotland international Kenny McLean has had a good week for Norwich City. A week which shows just how valuable a player he is to the English Championship leaders.
Firstly, last Saturday his lofted pass set up Emi Buendia to score the only goal of the game in a vital league win over Barnsley.
Opened the scoring
Then, earlier today, he opened the scoring as Norwich cruised to a comfortable 2-0 FA Cup third round win over Coventry City.

McLean been a key man for Norwich this season in their bid to return to the Premier League. The 29-year-old has overcome both a slow start to the season and a knee injury to become a mainstay in the middle of the park for Daniel Farke’s side.
McLean will be keen to perform as well as possible for the rest of the season for two reasons. Firstly, to help Norwich win promotion back to the Premier League. Secondly, to make sure that he keeps his place in the Scotland squad for the European Championship.
Working hard with Euros in mind
You would think that only injury would prevent McLean from keeping his place in the Scotland squad. He seems to be firm favourite of manager Steve Clarke. However, that won’t stop McLean from giving his all to make sure that he gets his place in the squad.

Should McLean keep up his current level of performance, he seems certain to be in the Norwich team for the rest of the season, and could well be a first choice for Scotland in the middle of the park as well. McLean has plenty to play for in the weeks and months ahead.
