Derek McInnes has confirmed that his Kilmarnock defender Stuart Findlay will be out for several months due to ankle ligament damage.
Findlay was stretchered off the Dens Park pitch on Sunday as Kilmarnock faced Dundee and the centre-back looked to be in severe pain.
Both Dundee and Killie medical teams attended to Findlay and he was taken to hospital as quickly as possible after being subbed off.
McInnes wasn’t too hopeful after the defeat but now, three days later, the Killie boss has told the press that Findlay will be on the sidelines for anywhere between two and six months depending on scan results.

Injured Findlay set for months out
Speaking ahead of Kilmarnock’s Rugby Park clash with Celtic on Sunday, McInnes revealed: “Stuart Findlay was scanned last night. Thankfully, there is no dislocation or fracture, but he has got severe ligament damage.
“We’ve still to get the results of the scan, but he could be out for two, three or even four months. Fortunately, the doctor at Dundee and our medical staff managed to get it back into place on Sunday.
“It’s a big blow for us. He’s a big player for me and has got such a big influence on our team. We’re going to have to cope with that. It’s a chance for someone else to go and play regularly when he’s out.
“We’re going to be without him for a while. I spoke to him yesterday. He’s quite philosophical about it.
“Depending on how the scan results come back in the coming weeks, it could be two to three months or four to six months. Hopefully, he gets a bit of good news.
“It happens, as managers we all need to deal with it. There’s no point in crying about it. We’ve had to deal without top players before.
“It’s the equivalent of Cameron Carter-Vickers coming out of the Celtic team, that’s how key he is for us.”
Findlay one of Kilmarnock’s best players
The loss of Stuart Findlay is a cruel blow for Kilmarnock who rely on his experience and defensive nous at the heart of their backline.
He’s been one of Killie’s top performers this season and his departure on Sunday against Dundee was felt by Kilmarnock across the rest of the game.
The former Scotland international will be missing for the busy festive period and potentially for a large remainder of the current campaign.
As mentioned, further scan results will determine how long Findlay will be out for as McInnes prays for the best possible outcome.
