Kilmarnock manager Tommy Wright has provided an update on Kyle Lafferty and when the former Hearts and Norwich City man may appear for Killie.
Lafferty signed for Kilmarnock last week after a spell in Italy with Reginna. The 33-year-old has had a much-traveled career in football, including multiple stints abroad and spells with Burnley, Rangers, Norwich City, Hearts, Sunderland and more.

The Rugby Park club are in desperate need of goals, losing their seventh game on the spin against Rangers on Saturday, suffering a 1-0 loss. Lafferty is Wright’s first signing as Killie boss after the Northern Irishman himself arrived early last week.
Kilmarnock currently sit 10th in the Scottish Premiership and Wright has explained Lafferty’s situation: “At the other end of the pitch we are lacking a little bit of cutting edge. The Rangers game came too early for Lafferty.
“It was the end of December he last did something. He did a training session on Friday and I felt for his sake it was better to give him the full week’s training.”

Aberdeen at Pittodrie comes next for Wright, a game in which Lafferty could make his debut. It’s an interesting tie, but perhaps not for the right reasons. If Aberdeen don’t score against Celtic on Wednesday, they’ll head into the match having not scored in six games, Killie failing to score in six of the last seven.
