Kris Commons has spoken about why Livingston thoroughly deserve their 2-0 victory over Celtic.

Speaking on Sky Sports Football (14:02, 06/10/19), Commons has praised Livi and believes they fully deserved their win.

He said: “It’s nothing more than they deserve. I thought they started the game well. I thought they pressed Celtic in the right areas.

“They put an immense amount of pressure on the centre-half’s in particular. I think Celtic could’ve been playing for a couple of days and still wouldn’t have scored.

“Credit to Livingston this afternoon.”

Livingston wanted the win more than Celtic

It can’t be denied how big the red card was for the overall balance of the game. It meant Celtic couldn’t fully put Livi under intense pressure, but even still, they had plenty of quality out on the park.

The big difference was Livingston looked like they wanted it more. Gary Holt’s men scrapped for every ball and showed moments of quality when they needed to.

It’s a historic afternoon for them and they deserve it. On effort levels alone, Celtic couldn’t hold a candle to what Livi were pouring into the game.

Neil Lennon will have to go back to the drawing board now thanks to Livi’s excellent work.
