Domestic and European action means Raith Rovers’ glamour Premier Sports Cup quarter-final with Celtic will be played on a Thursday night.

European action involving Celtic means Rovers’ first last eight tie since 1994 will be played in a rare Thursday night slot on September 23rd. Dundee United v Hibs will also be played on that date with Dundee v St Johnstone and Rangers v Livingston to be played the day previous. All games be shown live on Premier Sports with a 7:45PM kick-off.

John McGlynn’s side face Celtic.

Rovers are the only Scottish Championship side in the quarter-finals of the League Cup, with the rest of the draw made up of Premiership clubs.

An SPFL statement on the scheduling reads: “It was not possible to schedule fixtures for Tuesday September 21 due to the Dundee derby on Sunday September 19 and confirmed UEL or UECL group stage football for Celtic and Rangers, which is likely to see their Premiership matches on September 18 moved to Sunday September 19.”
