Lewis Moore is hoping that his impending departure from Hearts will lead to him playing more first-team football in the future.

The 22-year-old, who is currently on loan at Arbroath, recently disclosed that manager Robbie Neilson told him that he has no future at Tynecastle.

However, he won’t let that get him down. Indeed, Moore is hopeful that he will earn a new challenge at a club where he will play more regular first-team football.

“No point wasting my time”

“The manager said he doesn’t see me having a long-term future at the club. Football is a game of opinions, so there’s no point wasting my time there” he said (Edinburgh Evening News).

The player has conceded that even if he impresses on loan at Arbroath, he will likely not be playing for Hearts again. To his credit, he does seem to be calm about the decision, and indeed it could motivate him going forward.

“Need to get out there”

“If you aren’t playing then you aren’t happy. At my age, I’ve got to be playing every week. There’s no point in me sitting crying about it. I just need to get out there. Hearts isn’t the be-all-and-end-all. It doesn’t matter if I score ten goals, it’s just not going to be” Moore continued.

On the plus side for Moore, Arbroath manager Dick Campbell has told the player he will get a chance to play. Even though he as yet has not been able to break into their side as they are in a run of good form.

“Arbroath are unbeaten in five games and just beat Dunfermline 2-0. I just need to wait for a chance. I spoke to Dick Campbell, and he said he’s an honest and fair guy. He said I’ll get my opportunity and when that happens I need to take it.”
