Lewis Stevenson’s time at Hibernian won’t be coming to an end anytime soon, as the player has signed a new deal at Easter Road.

The 33-year-old has spent his entire career at Hibernian. He recently made his 500th appearance for the club in the 1-1 draw with Celtic.

The player has won a Scottish Cup and a League Cup in his time at Easter Road. Stevenson will be hoping to win a second League Cup this season. Hibernian are in the semi-finals of the competition.

Stevenson was delighted to get his future sorted.

“This is where I want to be”

“Everyone knows what the club means so me, and it was a short conversation to extend my contract. This is where I want to be” he said.

“I’m enjoying my football as much as I ever have, and I’d like to thank the manager, the staff and my team-mates for that.

“I’ve never taken anything for granted since my first game for the club, which seems like a long time ago now. It’s been a privilege to play for Hibernian, and I’m proud that I’ll get the chance to do so for a little while longer” he concluded.

Hibernian manager Jack Ross had plenty of praise for the player.

“We’re all pleased to have Lewis on board until at least the summer of 2022” he began.

“A delight”

“I’m sure every manager who has had the pleasure of coaching him would say the same. He is a delight to work with. There are no original compliments to pay him.

“There is no better role model for any young player, and it’s no surprise to have read Josh Doig say as much repeatedly this season” Ross remarked.
