Liam Burt is on trial at Aberdeen after his spell at Celtic.

The youngster has been on the books of Celtic and Rangers most recently but has been looking for a club since leaving Parkhead in the summer.

He had been on trial at Barnsley last month and also spent a training period with Sunderland during the summer.

Still a free agent at present, he was a guest at Pittodrie on Tuesday night as Derek McInnes’ men beat Hamilton Accies 4-2.

Burt, capped five times by Scotland at U21s level, has taken up the offer of going on trial at Aberdeen as he aims to earn a contract in the north-east.

So far in his career, Burt has made senior appearances for the likes of Alloa and Dumbarton. After a few senior cameos for Rangers, he made a controversial move to Celtic but was unable to break into senior plans with the Premiership champions.

Now Burt is aiming to win a deal at his fifth SPFL club.
