Former Kilmarnock attacker Liam Millar is set to leave Liverpool for Swiss giants FC Basel (Echo).

The Canadian international is close to agreeing personal terms with Basel after a seven-figure bid for his services was accepted by Liverpool. An opening bid was rejected but now terms have been agreed to allow Millar to move to Switzerland, should he be open to the move.

Millar had a loan spell at Charlton Athletic last season and there were options for the former Kilmarnock forward in the English Football League. But a move abroad and UEFA Europa Conference League football looks to have sold Millar on Switzerland.

Capped 11 times by Canada, Millar made 36 appearances over two loan spells at Kilmarnock. He scored two goals with three assists but his recent loan to Charlton has shown his true potential, scoring three goals and six assists. Millar has made one senior Liverpool appearance.
