Gary Holt says his Livingston team should not be fearful of the big occasion at Celtic Park this weekend.
Livi travel to face Celtic on Saturday in Glasgow. The home side are in formidable home form, having lost just one of their last 81 home games on the domestic front.
Despite this, Holt says his Livingston team have ‘nothing to fear’ travelling to face Neil Lennon’s side.
He told the West Lothian Courier (page 53, 21/11/19): “What an occasion it is. It’s something for us to embrace. The crowd will be massive and the atmosphere will be phenomenal.
“There’s nothing to fear. Absolutely nothing to fear. At the end of the day if you put in the hard work and do everything we ask of you then what else can you do?”
Holt can take confidence from recent Celtic win
Last time out, Livingston secured their first win over Celtic with a 2-0 triumph at the Tony Macaroni Arena. It was a strong performance that Livi will take confidence from.
Since then their form has slipped a bit, failing to win a game since that brilliant feat. That win is their only win since a 2-1 win over St Mirren in August.
Playing at Parkhead is a different kettle of fish though but Livi know how to defend against Celtic. They’ve not conceded a goal against Celtic in their last three games.
Whilst they aren’t on a great run of form, Holt knows how to deal with Celtic in mind. He’s shown in the past that Livingston can match the Hoops and he’ll aim to do the same on Saturday.
