Scottish football is nothing if not entertaining and Livingston added yet another ridiculous story to the long, long list when they somehow wound up in a Twitter fued with wrestling legends the Hardy Boyz.

After beating Dundee at the Tony Macaroni in midweek, Livi tweeted that midfield duo Jason Holt and Stephane Omeonga “are a better tag team than the Hardy Boyz” before things took weird twist.

What started out as a harmless enough Tweet from Livi’s Twitter admin quickly ended up in one of the most bizarre exhanges for a while:

Matt Hardy however was having none of it, as he responded to the West Lothian side with a gif of the legendary wrestling brothers:

Biggest STAR Your Club Are Trying To SIGN This Month

That however only seemed to spur on Livingston as a challenge was made by the Premiership side – complete with a picture of their own 8-man team of wrestling superstars:

With the numbers heavily against them, Matt Hardy accepted the challenge from Livingston:

Livingston appeared to get the last word – for now at least – as they invited the wrestling icons to the Tony Macaroni as the most bizarre Scottish football Twitter spat of 2022 took one last ridiculous twist

Livingston weren’t quite done there though, responding to one comment asking whether they “have the registered trademark for displaying these costumes?”

After being separated for the last few years, the Hardys are set to be reunited in the ring in March when the pair team up for the first time since April 2019 when they defended their WWE Smackdown Tag Team Championships.

Both have since left WWE – with Matt now wrestling for AEW while Jeff was only recently released by WWE.
