QPR striker Lyndon Dykes will miss Scotland’s next UEFA Nations League match after picking up a booking in the 1-0 win over Czech Republic.

The new Loftus Road man has been inspiring up front for Scotland since choosing navy blue over Australia on the international scene last month. In five caps so far, he has scored two goals with one assist.

He’s provided the talisman-like figure Scotland’s national team has been crying out for in recent times, the QPR star linking up well with Newcastle United winger Ryan Fraser in the last two matches.

Dykes’ goals and overall contributions have helped Scotland go one step away from Euro 2020 and one victory off winning their Nations League group. But in the deciding Nations League match, manager Steve Clarke will have to do without him.

Against Czech Republic, he picked up a booking, leaving him suspended for the trip to Slovakia next month. It came in the second half, Dykes barging over his man and swiftly being shown a yellow.

Thankfully, QPR’s number nine is still available for the most important match next month when Scotland travel to Serbia to fight for a place at next summer’s Euro competition.
