QPR manager Mark Warburton reckons Lyndon Dykes’ time at QPR will come, even though the Scotland international has found it difficult to find the back of the net this season.
Dykes, who excelled for Scotland in the Euro 2020 play-offs, has scored five goals for the English Championship side since joining from Livingston.
Manager has faith in player
Warburton sounds fully confident that over the next few years, the 25-year-old will become one of QPR’s most important players.

-However, he does feel that the fact that he didn’t come through any football academy means that he isn’t as developed as some of his teammates.
“How good he’ll become”
“I’ve no doubt about his quality. He’s a young player who hasn’t had the benefit of an academy background and is playing catch-up, so to speak. There’s no doubt about Lyndon Dykes and how good he’ll become” he said (West London Sport).

Even though he hasn’t been finding the back of the net on a regular basis, Warburton has still been picking Dykes for the QPR first-team. He has made 25 appearances this season, which indicates that the manager still has faith in the player.
It might well be annoying for Dykes that he hasn’t been able to find the back of the net on a regular basis. However, he must be pleased with how Warburton has continually supported him this season.
Dykes will get a chance to add to his goal tally this evening though, when QPR takes on Brentford. The player may be aware of Warburton’s supportive comments, and that could give him plenty of motivation for the game.
