Martin Boyle is happy that Christian Doidge has ‘decided to show up’ after a hot run of form for the Hibs striker.
After a tough start to life at Easter Road, the Welshman has netted five times in three games. It has helped drive the Hibees into the top six.

Boyle is delighted for the striker. He told the Daily Record (page 67, 28/11/19): “We’re maybe getting a few more breaks now and we’re defending well too. We’re not giving away as many sloppy goals and now Doidgey has decided to show up.
“He’s getting the goals and they’re going in off him everywhere. He’s flying at the moment. We have strength in depth now with all the boys coming back.
“We’ve been saying for ages that Christian just needed one to get him going and then he would kick on. He’s a workhorse, unbelievable in the air and you can play off him.”
Doidge becoming the striker Hibs need
It was an extremely tough start for Doidge. Nine league games passed him by without a goal and doubts were beginning to be raised over whether he could cut it at Premiership level.

To his credit he’s fired back in some style. A switch from one striker to a partnership with Florian Kamberi has really helped him in recent weeks.
Now he goes into the weekend’s match with Killie full of confidence. With five goals in his last three, he’ll fancy his chances to add more to the goal tally in a crucial Hibs game.
A win would move them joint-fifth and the Welshman will want to contribute to that target.
