Matt Macey has signed a new deal to take his Hibs stay until 2023 after signing from Arsenal in the winter.
The goalkeeper has been Hibs’ cup goalkeeper since arriving from Arsenal in January. He won the FA Cup with Mikel Arteta’s team last season but could be set to win the Scottish Cup with Jack Ross’ this season, currently at the semi-final stage ahead of a match with Dundee United this weekend.
Macey signed a deal until the end of the season after leaving Arsenal but now will stay at Hibs until 2023. There is a chance for him to become number one as regular stopper Ofir Marciano prepares to leave the club.
An Israeli international, the goalkeeper has confirmed he will leave the Scottish Premiership team at the end of the season after five years at Hibs. Manager Ross still has Macey, Kevin Dabrowski and Murray Johnson – who is attracting interest from the English Premier League – to call upon in the goalkeeper department next season.
