Former Aberdeen left-back Max Lowe is at the centre of an English Championship transfer tug of war involving clubs like Nottingham Forest (FLW).
The full-back impressed during his sole season at Pittodrie in the 2018/19 campaign. A deal to see him join Swansea City was reportedly agreed but Nottingham Forest have entered the reckoning.
Nottingham Forest are now after Lowe’s signature but their first loan bid has proven unsuccessful.
Forest have identified him as a left-back target but it is unknown whether they will go back for Lowe following an initial rejection. The left-back’s form at Aberdeen provided the springboard he needed to establish himself at Championship level. He could reunite with former teammate Scott McKenna, if he completed a move to Nottingham Forest.
Lowe joined Sheffield United from Derby County last year but has found himself out of favour in Sheffield after eight appearances in the Premier League last season. Meanwhile back at Aberdeen, the club have sold almost 14,000 tickets for Thursday night’s Europa Conference League play-off second-leg against Qarabag of Azerbaijan.
The winner of the tie at Pittodrie will play group stage football on the continent until Christmas, at least.
