Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes has admitted he would like to sign at least one more player before the Dons being their Europa League campaign.

Aberdeen face Finnish side RoPS Rovaniemi in three weeks’ time, and McInnes has revealed that more new faces would be arriving at Pittodrie before then.

“I would like to think we will have one or two more in for that tie, but we will just have to wait and see” he said, as reported by the Evening Express.

“In an ideal world that would be the case, but there is a lot of work to do to get signings over the line.”

Aberdeen have signed three players this summer, the most recent being arguably the most exciting to the support – Craig Bryson.

Ideal replacement for departed key man

Bryson is returning to Scotland after a successful spell at Derby County. If he is able to replicate the form he showed at Derby he could be an ideal replacement for Graeme Shinnie.

Aberdeen fans will no doubt be intrigued to see Bryson make his debut for the Dons. That could well happen when Aberdeen return to Europe next month.

Judging by McInnes’ comments, he is hoping that some other players will be making their Aberdeen debut on that day.

Only time will tell on that front, but McInnes certainly sounds hopeful at the very least.
