Ross County midfielder Michael Gardyne is hopeful that the experience he has picked up in previous relegation battles can help influence his teammates who have never been in the situation before.
Gardyne has experienced a lot in his time as a footballer. He is more than happy to give advice to those players not used to a relegation battle. As it stands, County are currently in 10th place in the Premiership. Two points clear of Kilmarnock and Hamilton ahead of today’s trip to St Mirren.
“Nice to have that experience”
“I’ve been here (at Ross County) for a few years. I’ve been in this position, in a way it’s nice to have that experience that I can bring to a few lads that are new to it” he said.

“Everybody wants to play at the highest level they can, it’s the SPL in Scotland. We need to make sure we are doing everything we can to stay in this league this season” Gardyne stated.
Embracing the challenge of this season
The 35-year-old is embracing the challenge of this season as he comes towards the end of his career. He is still an influential player, as he showed in last week’s 1-0 win over Celtic.

“I’m looking forward to it. It was nice to get back in the team for the Celtic game, and do well, along with everyone else, even the subs, everybody played really well.
“It’s a challenge, but it’s that one that you’ve got to embrace. I’m not getting any younger, and I want to play as many games as I can. It’s all about these next nine games and what we do.”
