One of the most interesting stories in recent weeks has been the revival of Morton under now permanent manager Anton McElhone.
The Greenock side had won both of the games he had been in charge of since the exit of former manager David Hopkin. The good results had taken Morton up to third place in the Championship table. They are in position to challenge for the Championship play-off positions.
Decision made after pitch inspection
Sadly the ongoing charge to the play-offs has had to be halted. The game between Morton and Inverness at Cappielow on Saturday afternoon has been postponed. The decision followed a pitch inspection which took place at 9:45 am.

Morton made the announcement on the club’s website, and the date of the rearranged fixture will be announced in due course.
The news of the postponement will be disappointing to McElhone and his players. They would have been desperate to play to keep their winning run going. However, with the wind and rain currently battering Scotland, it is perhaps no shock that the game was postponed.
Team should be back in action soon
The good news for Morton is that, weather permitting, the team will be back in action very soon. They are due to face Ayr United on Tuesday night. A win in that game would maintain their push for the play-off places.

By the time Morton play that game they could be out of the top four. However, McElhone will have confidence in his player’s abilities to keep the winning run going. They have shown in recent weeks that they can get the victories when required.
