Motherwell manager Graham Alexander has been named Scottish Premiership manager of the month for the third time – becoming the first non-Old Firm manager to win the award three times in the same year in the SPL/SPFL era.

The Steelmen won three of their four games last month, beating Aberdeen, Dundee United and Hearts as Alexander adds to the awards he won in September and April.

The Motherwell boss hailed the work of his staff and players in helping him win the award as he lauded the Fir Park side’s recent results that have sent them climbing up the Premiership table.

“I’m delighted once again to be accepting this award on behalf of everyone who has worked so hard to contribute to our results,” said the Motherwell boss.

“It is the efforts of everyone that helped us win the three matches and win this award for the second time this season.”

RONALDO NEEDS TO STOP WHINING.

The Fir Park side face Celtic this weekend in Glasgow and three points for the Steelmen would be a massive boost ahead of the Christmas fixtures.

Alexander’s impressive work at Motherwell continues to go under the radar a little but three Manager of the Month awards in eleven months is an impressive feat for any manager in the Premiership – never mind one from a club outside the Old Firm.

If the Motherwell boss continues the way he is, it likely won’t be long before there is interest from elsewhere in his services but with the prospect of European football on the horizon it’ll surely be a hard task to lure him away from Fir Park.
