Motherwell director Andrew Wilson has been charged by the SFA after comments made about referee Bobby Madden during the Well’s 5-1 defeat to Rangers.
Goals from James Tavernier, Cedric Itten and Jordan Jones settled a convincing win for Rangers on their travels to Fir Park. A big talking point from the game though was the new handball rule.
Madden pointed to the spot twice, both penalties subject of meticulous debate in the week following the Motherwell Rangers clash.
Director Wilson made comments on it at the time, criticising Madden’s display at Fir Park, saying a decision the ref made was ‘farcical’ amongst other things.
It hasn’t gone unnoticed, with an SFA hearing set at the end of this month on October 29. If found guilty, the Motherwell director could face a fine.
The Steelmen’s match with Rangers turned out to be their last before the international break after a COVID-19 outbreak at their next scheduled opponents Kilmarnock caused the game at Rugby Park to be postponed.
