Croatian full-back Christian Ilic has seemingly confirmed a move to Motherwell via Instagram.

He is a left-back with the capability of playing on either flank according to Transfermarkt.  Ilic has posted snaps from within Fir Park recently. He has also put the Well in his bio, whilst captioning one specific video ‘my new living room’ whilst walking about in the South Stand at Fir Park.

Ilic was at Fir Park recently.

It’s not advisable to read too heavily into things like this, but this is a pretty clear indicator that Ilic is moving to Fir Park.

Seemingly Motherwell-bound Ilic was unveiled by Sepsi recently

There is one big thing that throws doubt and confusion over all of this.

He was recently unveiled as a signing for Romanian outfit Sepsi Sf. Gh. They are managed by former Dundee United boss Csaba Lazlo.

If he has just signed for them, what is he doing at Fir Park claiming it’s his new home? It all seems very strange.

Who knows what has happened there. What is very clear is that Ilic was at Fir Park recently and that he has seemingly confirmed a quick exit from the Romanian outfit.

The 22-year-old is a left-back primarily, so it seems like somebody’s place in the Well team is about to be taken. Manager Stephen Robinson already has Jake Carroll and promising youngster Adam Livingstone in the position, whilst Charles Dunne and Richard Tait can also do a job there.

Ilic has all but confirmed his Fir Park move. There are a few lingering details though that make this move a strange one. It’ll be intriguing to see how it all plays out.
