Dundee United boss Robbie Neilson has provided fans with an intriguing transfer update ahead of United’s first game of the season.

He has disclosed that the Tannadice side have not finished with their transfer business yet. In fact, they would like to make one more signing.

“We are still looking to bring one more in” he said, as reported by the Courier.

“Still working hard”

“That has been the case for a while, and we are still working very hard on that.”

Neilson and United will need a good start to the season after their shock exit from the Betfred Cup. A home defeat to East Fife contributed to them missing out on a last sixteen place in the tournament.

Therefore, perhaps another signing would help to get fans back on side and the team back on track.

United do face quite a tough start to the season. They begin with a home match against Inverness, followed by a  trip to Glasgow to play Partick. A new signing could make a difference in those matches.

Of the players United have signed this summer, the player with the biggest spotlight on him will be Lawrence Shankland.

He has already scored in the Betfred Cup, now United will be hoping that his goals will take the Tannadice side back into the Premiership.

They failed at the final hurdle last season, maybe Neilson’s last singing will make that bit of difference.
