Norwich City loanee Aidan Fitzpatrick’s second goal of the season was vital in helping Queen of the South win what looked to be a tricky Scottish Cup tie on Friday night.
The 19-year-old lined-up for the struggling Championship side – they are eighth in the table – as they faced League Two leaders Queen’s Park. The game looked to have all the potential of a Scottish Cup shock.
Weighed in with goal
However, Fitzpatrick weighed in with a goal to put Queens two-nil ahead which all but killed the game as a contest. The game ended 3-0 to Queen of the South.

That goal will give the player confidence going forward, as he aims to make an impression at the Championship side.
Fitzpatrick joined Queen of the South on loan at the start of the season, and so far he has been a regular starter for the team.
Featured in every league game so far
The winger has featured in every league game that Queens have played so far this season. That will be great news for Norwich City boss Daniel Farke. He would have hoped that the move would provide Fitzpatrick with regular first-team football and so far it has done that.

As yet, the player probably wouldn’t make the breakthrough into the Norwich first-team. However, the chances of that happens will no doubt be enhanced when he returns to Carrow Road with a full season of first-team football behind him.
No doubt Norwich will be keeping an eye on the player’s progress for the rest of the season. You have to imagine they will be happy with how things have gone for Fitzpatrick so far.
