Nottingham Forest join transfer race for Hibs’ in-demand Josh Doig

Nottingham Forest have joined a growing number of clubs interested in Hibs left-back Josh Doig (Athletic).

The teenager won the Scottish Football Writers Association’s Young Player of the Year award for his breakthrough campaign at Easter Road last season. He’s not been short of suitors because of it, Italian giants AC Milan said to be keeping tabs on his situation. Nottingham Forest now register an interest in Doig.

Scott McKenna moved to Nottingham Forest from the cinch Premiership last summer, joining the English Championship club from Aberdeen. They also recently signed for Cowdenbeath goalkeeper Nicky Hogarth to their U23s squad.

Regular minutes would be more likely for Doig at Nottingham Forest. But with Leicester City interest leaving Hibs chairman Ron Gordon ‘excited’ alongside a host of other top English Premier League club, the Championship club would need to offer a substantial package to compete with big-name interest.
