Ofir Marciano is watching time tick down on his Easter Road deal – and clubs as big as Chelsea and Manchester United could snap him up if Hibs don’t tie him down to a new deal.
That’s the opinion of Hibees legend, John Burridge. Marciano has impressed on the domestic and international front this term as teams such as Chelsea and Manchester United could snap him up.

Marciano frustrated Scotland earlier this month with a fine display in Israel’s victory over Steve Clarke’s side. He impressed once more for Hibs at the weekend, making numerous saves in a 2-2 draw with Celtic.
Burridge is a former Hibees goalkeeper, winning the League Cup in 1991 at Easter Road. He’s urging his former team to get Marciano’s contract sorted, manager Jack Ross confirming recently talks had started.
“Sign him, give the lad what he wants,” he said (Edinburgh Football Show). “There are so many bad ones [goalkeepers] now, unless they’ve got a young 21-year-old who is as good as him in the reserves they’re sure about, do it, give him what he wants.

“Don’t let him go, you keep your best players because he’ll walk out these days, he’ll walk into Chelsea, he’ll walk into Manchester United; there’s so many wanted goalkeepers now.
“So many English teams want goalkeepers now because there are so many bad ones out there.”
