Stephane Omeonga has said he has unfinished business at Easter Road after making his return to Hibs on loan from Genoa.
The Belgian midfielder was a big hit at Easter Road last season. His energetic performances following a loan move from the Italian outfit earned him plenty of Leith plaudits.
He’s back now and the Belgian insists that it’s a good feeling to be ‘home’ in Edinburgh.
He told Hibs TV: “I’m really pleased to be here, I know how much the fans have been waiting for me to come back. It was good last season but something was missing.
“I guess I’m here to finish it and we’ll see what happens in the future. The fans showed me some incredible love than nowhere showed me which was good.
“I’ve came here to feel like home and when you’re home you can do incredible stuff out on the pitch.”
It’s a signing that has went down well with all associated at Hibs. The fans are buzzing to have one of their former star men back, but the staff at Easter Road are glad to see him too.
Omeonga took to the hearts of everyone around the club quickly. He showed a passion for the club in a short space of time and it earned him lots of repsect around the Hibees camp.
He’ll add legs to Jack Ross’ midfield which is a bonus out on the park. It’s also some good reinforcement for the engine room after Stevie Mallan picked up a knee injury recently.
Omeonga’s back in Leith and it seems to be a great thing for all involved.
