Former Aberdeen hero Mixu Paatelianen has given Aberdeen the fans the low-down on what to expect from RoPS.
The Finnish side visit Pittodrie in the Europa League on Thursday. Paatelianen thinks they are capable of giving the Dons a tough game.
“RoPS will be very sticky for Aberdeen” he said, as reported by the Evening Express.

“Strength is in their defence”
“RoPS’ strength is in their defence as they have experience in players like Taye Taiwo and Mohamadou Sissoko who I managed at Kilmarnock.”
The former Dons striker does think that if Aberdeen play to their best, they should prevail in the tie.

“However, if Aberdeen play their normal high-tempo game it will be very difficult for RoPS as the Dons are a quality side.”
Opponents already playing competitive football
What could make the game difficult for Derek McInnes’ side is that RoPS are already playing competitive football. That is just a hurdle that the Dons will have to overcome though.
If as Paatelianen says, that RoPS’ strength is in defence, it could be a big night for new signing Craig Bryson.

Derek McInnes will be looking for Bryson to unlock the RoPS defence. It could also be a big game for Sam Cosgrove, who excelled up-front for Aberdeen last season.
Judging by Paatelianen’s comments it could be a tough game for the Dons. Therefore, any win to take over to the second leg will be a good result. Although a clean sheet would also be a bonus.
