Paul Heckingbottom has revealed he would be ‘jealous’ of any Celtic title party at Easter Road on Sunday. Should Rangers fail to defeat Hearts on Saturday, Celtic could clinch the title with three points against Hibernian.

The Hibs head coach has admitted that it would not be an occasion he would look back on fondly should Celtic win the title in Edinburgh.

“No-one would like it but me personally I would hate it” he told the Scotsman.

“That’s our goal”

Whilst most of the focus will be on the potential title party, as Heckingbottom says Hibs do still have plenty to play for.

Foremost in their thoughts will be the battle with rivals Hearts to claim the position of top Edinburgh club in the Premiership.

Outside chance for Europe

Hibs currently lead their rivals by two points, following their 2-1 win at Tynecastle before the league split. The Easter Road side also have an outside chance to qualify for Europe.

They are currently six points behind both Aberdeen and Kilmarnock.

To achieve one or both of these goals, Hibs will need to keep picking up points. Therefore, they will be as determined as possible to make Celtic’s visit to Easter Road as difficult as it gets.

Should Hibs play the way they can under Heckingbottom, there will be no need for any title party at Easter Road.
