According to a report, Portsmouth are targeting Motherwell midfielder Liam Polworth (Daily Record).

He’s been an ever-present in Stephen Robinson’s side so far this term, creating an impressive nine assists from midfield.

Portsmouth reportedly scouting Polworth

Polworth has been the centre of a Pompey scouting mission in recent weeks the report claims as Kenny Jackett casts his eye over the in-form midfielder.

Having only arrived at the club in the summer, and with recent news that Motherwell have cleared nearly all of their debt, they aren’t in a position where they need to sell for cash.

Portsmouth may be looking to add Polworth in an attempt to add some creativity to their attacking efforts. Out of the 23 teams in League One, only four other sides have scored less than Pompey.

Motherwell will not be looking to sell one of their players who is fast becoming a prize asset, with a push for European spots looking very likely after an impressive Premiership start.
