Premiership duo chasing Hearts star ahead of transfer window opening – report

St Johnstone and Livingston are both eyeing a move for Hearts winger Jamie Walker as he looks set to depart Tynecastle having fallen out of favour under Robbie Neilson.

According to the Edinburgh Evening News, the two Premiership sides have both made enquiries about the 28-year-old, who is out of contract in the summer.

The report claims Hearts are “unlikely” to pose any obstacle to a move being done – whether on loan or on a permanent basis – with no offer of a contract extension appearing to be on the horizon for Walker.

So far this season, Walker has only manager two league appearances for the Jambos and the opportunity to move on and get a fresh start is likely to appeal to the winger.

RONALDO NEEDS TO STOP WHINING.

There will be a sense of deja-vu for the winger, having gone through similar in late 2017 before making a £300,000 move to Wigan at the start of 2018 ahead of his contract expiring that summer.

After 18 months in England, Walker returned to Tynecastle in the summer of 2019, signing a three-year deal with Hearts but it looks like it will have been the last Tynecastle contract Walker will sign.

With his contract up in the summer, he may prefer the chance to go out on loan for six months and give himself a shop window to win a bigger move in the summer – although the prospect of some security could tempt him to sign a permanent deal in January somewhere.
