Teams across the Premiership have kicked off their preparations for the 2019/20 campaign recently. Here’s a round-up of how Premiership teams have coped with their first set of pre-season friendlies so far.

Aberdeen drew 0-0 with Connah’s Quay Nomads in Cork on 29 June. The Welsh outfit proved tough opposition for the Dons as both sides gear up for Europa League campaigns. Nomads face fellow SPFL side Kilmarnock in the first set of qualifiers.

Summer signings signings Greg Leigh, Jon Gallagher and Ryan Hedges started,  with Curtis Main and Ash Taylor coming appearing from the bench.

There was disappointment for Hearts as they were beaten 2-0 by Arbroath. With a largely inexperienced side fielded, it’s more important that minutes were tallied up by fringe players.

Livingston have been preparing for the new season in Budapest. They took on Slovakian outfit SFK Sered in Hungary on June 30, drawing 1-1 with the Slovakians. New signing Lyndon Dykes scored for Gary Holt’s men

Motherwell have already played twice this pre-season, taking in two games against Crusaders and Linfield whilst in Northern Ireland. Having suffered a 1-0 defeat to Crusaders, the Well bounced back and brushed Linfield to one side with a 3-0 victory.

Jake Carrol scored a brilliant free kick, either side of Chris Long and Peter Hartley finishes.

St Mirren were in Belfast over the weekend too, taking on local outfit Rosario Seniors on June 28.  The Buddies won the clash 1-0.
