A former professional poker player is in talks over potentially investing in Dunfermline, according to a report.
London-born entrepreneur James Bord founded US firm Short Circuit Science, which specialises in sports data analytics as well as medical prescription technology and climate adoption analysis.
The Daily Mail now reports he is at the head of a consortium which is in talks with current Pars majority shareholders Fussball GmbH.
The German football investment group brought a 30 per cent stake in the Scottish Championship outfit in 2020 and increased it to 75 per cent a year later.
But they announced they would look to sell up amid flak from supporters.

James Bord was originally in banking but quit in his mid-20s to embark on a professional poker career.
He 2010 World Series of Poker Europe Main Event, gaining international recognition.
The 43-year-old then launched Short Circuit Science and is now at the forefront of the consortium looking to invest in Dunfermline.
They are in talks with Fussball GmbH but the Scottish FA would have to approve any deal due to their their dual interest rules.
The same happened with Bill Foley’s investment in Hibs, which the SFA ratified.
Similarities to Hearts analytics route
Short Circuit Science say they employ ‘state-of-the-art AI algorithms to conduct comprehensive player analysis’.
This is similar to Tony Bloom’s Jamestown Analytics who recently did a deal with Hearts to allow them to use their data algorithm in recruitment and opposition analysis.
Brighton owner Bloom is also in talks with the Tynecastle club over buying a minority stake.
