Dillon Barnes is on the move again following his return to QPR from a loan spell at Hibs, signing up with Burton Albion for the rest of the campaign.
The QPR goalkeeper made eight appearances while on loan at Easter Road, featuring in the League Cup group stages as cover for number one Ofir Marciano before filling the gloves while the Israeli was injured.
Now he joins Burton Albion as they look to survive in League One, currently in the relegation zone that could see them drop into League Two. The Brewers also recently signed former Hearts star Sean Clare on loan.
Barnes said of his move: “I always relish that competition but at the same time we’ll push each other to get better. It keeps everyone on their toes. I had a short conversation with the manager and he has given me insight into how he likes his goalkeepers to play, and I’d like to think I fit that.
“Everyone’s been really welcoming and looking at the facilities, everything is there and I’m pleased to be here.”
Manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink added: “Dillon is coming in on loan until the end of the season to provide added competition to the other goalkeepers that are already at the club We like what we’ve seen of him, he’s a good size and we hope he can add another good option for us.”
