Former Hearts defender Jimmy Dunne has completed a move to English Championship club QPR on a three-year deal, with the option of a further year.

He joins QPR for an undisclosed fee from Premier League side Burnley, who he left for Hearts on loan in 2018. It was a short but memorable stint, playing 14 times before returning south in January 2019. Some fans have longed for Dunne’s Tynecastle return but that is off the table for this summer at least.

QPR manager Mark Warburton said of Dunne: “Jimmy is a very talented player. He can play anywhere across the back three – left, right or centre – and that gives us great flexibility.

“He has great physicality, he looks after the ball well and plays with a real passion and energy. If he trains well he will get his chance in the side and that is what he is here to do.”
