Middlesbrough goalkeeper Sol Brynn will get the experience he needs at Scottish Championship club Queen of the South, according to manager Allan Johnston.

Palmertson number one Josh Rae is undergoing surgery on a fractured eye socket and cover is needed in that department. Brynn is highly-rated by English Championship side Middlesbrough but he needs regular minutes at senior level.

Johnston said: “Josh will be out for a while as he has a fractured eye socket and other facial injuries and requires an operation, so we are pleased to have been able to bring in Sol.

“He is a young keeper looking for experience so hopefully we can both benefit from the loan deal.

“We have built up a good relationship with Middlesbrough and again we are grateful to them for allowing Sol to join us.”
