Raith Rovers assistant Paul Smith says the Kirkcaldy side aren’t keen on halting their momentum as he provided a John McGlynn update.

Last season’s League One winners have started the season in terrific style and find themselves top of the table following an impressive 5-0 win over Greenock Morton.

Smith, deputising for boss John McGlynn, the ex-Hearts boss currently recovering from gallbladder surgery, says that Rovers don’t plan on slowing down anytime soon as an update on the fitness of the Stark’s Park boss was provided.

“Ten points out of 12 is a fantastic start,” he said. “The players deserve a lot of credit for how they have gone about things.

“We started this game well but ironically lost our way a bit when they went down to ten men. We got back on track in the second half.

“We aren’t going to get carried away with things. But that’s two games at home, eight goals scored, none conceded. That’s big for us.

“John’s back in hospital, he watched the game in hospital. He’s picked up an infection with the operation but they have got to the bottom of it. All going well he could be out of hospital next week.”
