Rangers defender Rhys Breen is set to leave the Ibrox club and join Dunfermline Athletic on a permanent basis ahead of the 2021/22 cinch Championship season (DR).

Peter Grant’s side signed Kai Kennedy on loan from Rangers this week and had Lewis Mayo in from Ibrox under former manager Stevie Crawford last term. Breen is set to be the latest Govan talent to join Dunfermline.

The 21-year-old has been on-loan in America with Orange County but it’s believed he will joining Dunfermline ahead of the Championship kick-off next week. Rangers have brought Breen back to Scotland and will complete his transfer away from Ibrox in the next week.

Breen has previously had loan spells at Partick Thistle and Queen of the South. He has progressed through the Ibrox academy but has never made a senior appearance for Rangers. Now Grant is set to give him a chance to prove himself as a permanent Dunfermline player.
