Former Hamilton Academical goalkeeper Remi Matthew says it’s ‘great’ to be a Crystal Palace player after sealing a dream English Premier League transfer.
Matthews spent last season at Sunderland and was a free agent this summer. He joins Crystal Palace on a two-year deal, where he will likely be third-choice goalkeeper. The stopper spent the 2016/17 season on loan at Hamilton and became a fans’ favourite as Accies stayed in the Scottish Premiership via the play-offs against Dundee United.

Speaking of his move to Crystal Palace after being confirmed as Patrick Vieira’s second signing, Matthews said: “I can’t wait.
“I’m excited to work with Dean Kiely again because he helps me improve. I’ve got two great goalkeepers to look up to in Vicente Guaita and Jack Butland. It’s great to be a part of it, and I’m really looking forward to it.”
