Liepaja manager Gordon Young is amongst a host of names that are being considered for the Hamilton job, according to the Scottish Sun.
The likes of Young, former Rangers captain Barry Ferguson and former Hamilton player Paul Hartley have also been mentioned.
Young, who has never managed in Scotland before, would certainly be a left-field apppointment.
Ferguson and Hartley are undeniably bigger names than Young, but that doesn’t guarantee that they will get the job.
The Hamilton board have a big decision to make when it comes to replacing Martin Canning.
Canning left the club by mutual consent on Tuesday.
Even though his recent results had been poor, Canning had done a very good job keeping Hamilton in the league for season after season.
The Accies board must have felt this was in danger of ending this season though.
The New Douglas Park side currently sit in 10th place in the table.
They are only 1 point ahead of 11th placed Dundee and 2 clear of bottom of the table St Mirren.
With the threat of relegation looming, they decided to make the big decision to get rid of Canning.
It will be interesting to see the direction the club now goes in when it comes to appointing the new manager.
With the battle to avoid the drop in full swing, they will want an appointment made sooner rather than later.
