It seems like Hibs will have a new full-back very soon. Recent reports seem to suggest Tom James has picked Hibs as his new club this Summer.
The Welshman is a free agent after leaving Yeovil Town in League Two. The Glovers were relegated to the National League, but versatile James was a shining light in what was a dark season for them.

Barring a complete catastrophe, it looks like he’ll be wearing the green of Hibs during 2019/20.
Reports of James in Edinburgh and contract talk
Probably the biggest bit of evidence that James is Hibs-bound is found in an Edinburgh Evening News report. They claim the full-back was at Paul Hanlon’s testimonial dinner at the weekend.
Now the Scottish Sun are reporting that he was there and that a deal will be confirmed within the next couple of days.

James’ reported spotting at the Hanlon event has probably let the cat out the bag. With all due respect to Hanlon, James would be nowhere near that event if he wasn’t close to a Hibs switch.
The timeframe the Scottish Sun have put on it though is a little ropey. We’ve all seen the headlines saying players will be announced on certain days already this summer, only for it not to happen. I’d just expect him to sign for the Hibees at some point in time.
Football Insider have reported he’s signed a three year deal. This seems to contradict what the Scottish Sun have reported, who have claimed he’s in Edinburgh to ‘finalise terms’. How true this is really could be anyone’s guess. It’ll likely be in that ball park, but we’ll only know for sure when, and still at this point if Hibs unveil him.

Nothing has been confirmed, however, this looks like a done deal. Whilst the reports could be paper talk for all we know, the spotting at a Hibs event in Edinburgh seems to indicate James will be a Hibee very soon.
